Day 1: Day 1 - Canada - Shanghai

Fly overnight to Shanghai.
Day 2: Day 2 - Arrive in Shanghai

Upon arrival in Shanghai, you will be warmly greeted at the airport by the tour guide and transferred to your hotel.
Day 3: Day 3 - Shanghai

Shanghai is the vibrant and commercial Centre of China. Today we will visit Shanghai Old Street area, a busy shopping center where you may find souvenirs and delicious local food. Enjoy some free time here. In the afternoon, you will walk along the famous Bund, a mile-long stretch along the Huangpu River. Lined by the colonial architectures of European design, this area is the best place to capture the western influences of the old days. At night, you may enjoy the “Huangpu River Night Cruise” and get a glimpse of the dazzling and charming night view of Shanghai (US$50/person).

Day 4: Day 4 - Shanghai - Suzhou

After breakfast, we will travel by coach to Suzhou. Suzhou is also known as the “Garden City” duento its classical gardens. Upon arrival, visit the Lingering Garden, one of the finest gardens in China. As a large area of the city is covered by water, including a vast number of ponds and streams, Suzhou is known as “Venice of the East”. You may take an optional cruise along the Grand Canal to view life along China’s golden waterway in its heyday (US$50/person).

Day 5: Day 5 - Suzhou

Today is free leisure, you may join the optional Tongli Water Town Tour with lunch (US$75/person). As an ancient town with more than 1000 years history, Tongli features typically the water county of South China. There are 5 lakes surround Tongli from outside, and the town is divided into 15 small islands by more than 10 rivers inside. However, the islands are connected by more than 40 various style stone bridges which built in different dynasties, Tongli Town stayed away from wars since it was inaccessible in the old times, which made more ancient buildings well preserved. Experience the enchanting charm of Tongli, a picturesque water town nestled in the heart of Suzhou, China, and witness the beauty that has inspired poets and artists for generations on this unforgettable exploration of Tongli.

Day 6: Day 6 - Suzhou - Hangzhou

This morning, travel by coach to Hangzhou. Described by Marco Polo as “the most beautiful and magnificent city in the world”. Upon arrival, experience an oriental tea-tasting at the Dragon Well Tea Plantation. Then visit the serene West Lake, the most renowned feature of Hangzhou, noted for its scenic beauty which blends with many famous historical and cultural sites. This evening, you can enjoy an optional performance,“Enduring Memories of Hangzhou”, a masterpiece created by Zhang Yimou, the director of the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. (US$90/person).

Day 7: Day 7 - Hangzhou - Xi'an

After breakfast, transfer to airport and take a flight to Xi’an, where was the first Chinese city to open its doors to the world during the Tang Dynasty. Over a period for more than 2000 years, Xi’an was the capital of eleven dynasties. After arrival, we will drive pass the Ancient City Wall. It is not only the most complete city wall that has survived in China, but also one of the largest and most complete ancient military defense systems in the world. This evening, you may join the optional visit to the Datang Everbright City. (US$69/person). It is a 2,100-meter-long pedestrian mall in Xi'an. The design theme is inspired by Tang Dynasty (618-907), You may try on a Tang Dynasty costume, the traditional attire of the Chinese people and having great photo opportunity along the artificial ancient street at night, to immerse yourself in the vibrant night life in the Tang Dynasty.

Day 8: Day 8 - Xi'an

After breakfast, you will visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum and see the attached life-sized defending army for the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. This site is regarded as “the eighth wonder of the world” and is among the top archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Visit an Art Ceramics Factory before visiting Ancient City Wall. It is not only the most complete city wall that has survived in China, but also one of the largest and most complete ancient military defense systems in the world. This evening, enjoy the “special local Imperial Dumpling Banquet Dinner and the traditional Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show” (US$68/person).

Day 9: Day 9 - Xi'an - Beijing

This morning, experience the most advanced high speed rail in the world, take a bullet train to Beijing, with top speed up to approximately 300km/h. Beijing has served as the capital of five dynasties over a period of 800 years. Today, visit the exquisite Summer Palace, the largest preserved ancient imperial garden in China, and a former summer resort for Emperors. Before head back to hotel, drive pass by modern exteriors of the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube that were built for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Both buildings have become symbols of modern China and are significant landmarks that showcase the country's architectural prowess.

Day 10: Day 10 Beijing

Today’s highlight is an excursion to the majestic Great Wall, the most famous image of China, and you can get a chance to climb a portion of this 3,700-mile marvel. Visit one of the largest Jade Exhibitions in Asia en-route before the Great Wall. After lunch, see skilled artisans at work in a Cloisonné Factory. Tonight, you can choose to attend an optional large scale dramatic musical, “The Golden Mask Dynasty” (US$65/person).

Day 11: Day 11 - Beijing

Today, visit Tiananmen Square, the second largest public square in the world, and the Forbidden City, it is a historic and magnificent imperial palace complex and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It served as the imperial palace for the Chinese emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties, spanning nearly five centuries from 1420 to 1912. It is located at the heart of Beijing and covers an area of about 180 acres. It is enclosed by a massive defensive wall and a deep moat, making it one of the largest and best-preserved ancient palace complexes in the world. Your banquet includes the local delicacy, Peking Roast Duck. This afternoon, you may join the optional Temple of Heaven & Hutong Life tour with dinner ($89/person). Temple of Heaven, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was visited by the Emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for annual ceremonies of prayer to Heaven for good harvest. Then take a famous rickshaw Hutong Tour & Local Family Visit, this package also includes a traditional Zhajiangmian - a popular Chinese noodle dish that originated in Beijing. It consists of hand-pulled wheat noodles topped with a savory sauce made from stir-fried ground meat. Hutongs are traditional alley ways that made up Beijing’s old city layout, take a special rickshaw ride for an immersive tour to get a wonderful glimpse into yesterday’s world,the old way of life and traditional Beijing culture, and see the dramatic changes the city has undergone, continue to visit a local family.
